Tanzania Mbeya coffee is a hidden gem in the world of specialty coffees, known for its exceptional quality and distinctive flavor profile. This coffee comes from the lush highlands of the Mbeya region of Tanzania, where a combination of climate, altitude and attention to cultivation results in an exquisite bean quality.

Like Rwanda, Tanzania has only recently become recognized for its specialty coffees. With its improving infrastructure, access to washing stations and cooperatives of small growers, Tanzania consistently produces high-quality beans.

The coffee production landscape in Tanzania is complex, with vast distances between coffee growing areas and often very rugged terrain. 90% of Tanzania's coffee producers come from small farms of 0.5 to 3 hectares. About half of the total coffee is produced in the southern regions of Mbeya, Mbozi and Mbinga.
